Welcome to our new Year 7s!

It has been fantastic to welcome our new Year 7 students into school. They have already started to make lots of new friends and have been excited about going into different lessons in a wide range of subjects. Our new students also thoroughly enjoyed their first secondary school lunch which is always a highlight! They have settled in wonderfully and we are very proud of how they have taken to secondary school life.

In their first morning, our new Year 7s attended an assembly with our headteacher, Mr Grieves, to welcome them into the Chapel High community. They learnt all about our expectations of them, how the school day works and what break and lunchtime routines are like. Then they collected their very first timetables and went straight into lessons. Thanks to the excellent transition sessions that many of them attended before the summer, lots of students already felt familiar with the school layout and their new teachers which was nice to see.

Headteacher, Simon Grieves, said, “I am so proud of how our Year 7s have settled into school and am delighted that many are keen to tell me how much they are enjoying high school.
