Online payments for school meals and events

Cashless Payments and ParentPay

Update 06/12/18

As you are no doubt aware many organisations are now moving away from accepting cash and cheques as payments for goods and services. For some time now, Chapel-en-le-Frith High School has used ParentPay as a means for parents and carers to pay for school meals and school trips. Following the recent news that the Royal Bank of Scotland is closing branches in both Chapel-en-le-Frith and Buxton, the school has decided that with effect from 7th January 2019, we will no longer accept cash or cheques for school meals, trips, revision guides, etc. We will, however, still accept cash for the sale of small stationery items such as pens and exam packs.

There are a range of advantages in taking this action, for parents, students and staff at the school:

• Cash is not lost on the way to school.

• No need to go to the bank/cashpoint to get cash out.

• Convenient - you can log into your account 24 hours per day.

• Reduced administration time for Chapel-en-le-Frith High School.

For those parents who do not have access to the internet or prefer not to use ParentPay, the alternative way to pay is by PayPoint. If you require a Paypoint card school will issue the first card. We would have to charge for any subsequent cards.

If you have not yet activated your ParentPay account and need a copy of the activation letter, please contact the school office. If you need any help or have any queries please contact Mrs J Emsley at school. Your support in using ParentPay will help the school enormously, thank you.

Over the past few years we have frequently been asked by parents to introduce an online payment system for school meals and events.  I am pleased to tell you that we have introduced such a system using a secure service called ParentPay.

The ParentPay system will be used to make payments for school meals, school trips and other activities.  Parents who wish to continue making payments by cash or cheque may do so for now, but in the longer term we will move towards making the school completely cashless.  Making payments online has many advantages including ensuring that money isn’t lost and removing the need to search for change before school.

Making secure payments online using your credit or debit card

ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: safe in the knowledge that the highest internet security standards are applied.

You will have a secure online account, activated using a unique username and password.  If you have more than one child at our school, or children at another ParentPay school, you can create one single account login for all your children regardless of which school they attend.  Making a payment is straightforward and ParentPay holds a payment history for you to view at a later date; no card details are stored in any part of the system. Once you have activated your account you can make online payments straight away.

Making payment by cash or cheque

We will continue to accept cash and cheque payments in school for a period of time. For school meals, please make cheques payable to Interserve Catering Services Ltd, including your child’s name on the reverse of the cheque. For school trips and other activities please make cheques payable to Chapel-en-le-Frith High School, including your child’s name on the reverse of the cheque.  Cash and cheque payments are recorded in your ParentPay online account, giving you a record of all payments you have made to school regardless of which method you use.

If you require any assistance please do not hesitate to contact the school office or for further information on ParentPay please see the FAQs below or visit
