School Transport

Many of our students travel to school on buses that are contracted by Derbyshire County Council. In order to qualify for free school transport, students must meet the criteria as defined in the Education Act 1996. For details on Derbyshire County Council’s school transport policy and applying for assistance with transport please go to the Derbyshire County Council school transport page.

In general, if this is not the normal area school for your child, the LA is not responsible for transporting your child to school. Some of our students use service buses for which parents need to meet the cost, although it is worth enquiring about bus passes which are considerably cheaper than daily fares. Parents who are in receipt of some benefits can also seek assistance with school transport. Again, please check the DCC website for further details.

For buses that service the school, please see the new bus timetable for September 2024.

School have now been included in Northern Rail’s education season ticket scheme. This provides parents with a discount on term time only tickets between specified stations. The list of participating schools has yet to be updated to show Chapel-en-le-Frith High School, however if you purchase a ticket the school will be available.
