Mental health is a priority here at Chapel High. We raised awareness of the support available to our students as part of World Mental Health Day. We talked about the brilliant charity, Young Minds, which helps young people with information and advice if they are suffering with low mental health. Students took part in a number of activities in school to promote talking about mental health and wellbeing. We encouraged them to wear a yellow sticker and write a message about what gives them a positive outlook as part of the Young Minds “Hello Yellow” campaign. Students also created doodles of what makes them feel happy and wrote notes of gratitude. It was wonderful to see that so many of them appreciate their family, friends and teachers as people they can turn to for support and to improve their wellbeing.
Students who feel they are struggling with poor mental health can speak to any member of staff in school to ask for help. We have a strong team of tutors, pastoral leaders and experienced staff who will help them to get the support they need.
