RAF assembly and careers café

We welcomed Flight Lieutenant Sarah Duffy from the RAF to deliver a careers assembly to our Year 9 and Year 10 girls in February. Students learnt about the role of the RAF, the different types of professions on offer and the entry requirements. Sarah also talked about her own experiences in the RAF, the benefits of working for the armed services and some of the more difficult aspects of her role.

After the assembly, we also hosted an RAF “Careers Café” for Year 11s who had shown a keen interest in a career with the RAF. Students were given an individual appointment with Sarah to find out more about the opportunities available, the recruitment process and what their next steps should be. This gave them dedicated time to ask questions and learn about the RAF in greater detail.
