We were delighted to welcome in the new year with a visit from one of our fabulous former students. Lucinda Lowes joined some of our GCSE science classes to run special physics workshops and to share her experience of studying at the University of Oxford. After Chapel High, Lucinda went on to take A Levels at Marple Sixth Form College, and is now in the second year of her degree at the prestigious university. She is passionate about all things physics and ran some interesting sessions for years 10 and 11 on deriving special relativity. Students were fascinated by her talk and asked some brilliant questions about her calculations and theories. Lucinda also spoke about how exciting and challenging it is to study at Oxford, and the extra support available to undergraduates throughout their time at the university.
A big thank you to Lucinda for coming back to Chapel High and sharing her experiences, it has really inspired our current students to think about what might be possible for them in the future.
