Performance Poet, Ash Dickinson, visits Chapel-en-le-Frith High School to Celebrate National Poetry Day

“I am on a crusade to make poetry accessible and relevant, to engage and enthuse, and to encourage students to have fun with words and language.” Ash Dickinson Ash Dickinson visits Chapel High School

We were delighted to welcome Ash Dickinson, poet, author and comedy performer, to our school last week to celebrate National Poetry Day.

Many of our year 8 students were given the opportunity to meet Ash, listen to his performance and then take part in his fun workshop. Ash certainly succeeded in his mission to “make poetry accessible” in our school, inspiring and guiding our year 8 students to write some fantastic poetry of their own.

Following his visit Ash said “Your Year 8s were a credit to you- very receptive, welcoming and lots of fun. Thank you for working to make my visit successful during this tricky time.”

Well done to all our year 8 students who took part in the workshop and made such a fantastic impression on our visitor!
