Business Studies

The current Year 11 ( September 2016) are the last year group to be following this course. Business Studies concerns the business aspects of organisations within their economic, political and social contexts. Business Studies involves the investigation of how enterprise adds value by organising the production of goods and services. The performance of business is studied from a range of perspectives. Using case studies, Business Studies ensures that candidates have knowledge, understanding and experience of the real world of business organisations. The Business Studies GCSE employs an analytical, evaluative and investigative approach.

We want students to be able to:

  • Recall, select and communicate their knowledge and understanding of business concepts, issues and terminology.
  • Apply skills, knowledge and understanding in a variety of business contexts and in planning and carrying out investigations and tasks.
  • Analyse and evaluate evidence, make reasoned judgements and present appropriate conclusions.
